Reporting to the Director of Imaging Services, the Manager of Imaging Informatics will play a key role in the development, implementation, and ongoing operation of an enterprise-wide imaging infrastructure performing over 200,000 procedures across multiple locations, and centering on the capture, repository, display, and integration of Imaging related data. The Manager of Imaging Informatics will be responsible for the oversight, development, implementation, and technical management of the Radiology and Cardiology Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and the supporting subsystems such as the Radiology Information System (RIS), Mammography Reporting System (MRS), Powerscribe dictation system, i-CAD and Vital Images post processing systems and other ancillary systems present and future. Works with management to identify present and future systems and strategic technology needs. Provides project management for technology and related system implementations. Work is accomplished through self and subordinate staff, and frequent interaction with Physicians, Radiology Department managers and supervisors, PACS Administrators and Information Systems (IS) Departments.

Minimum Qualifications:


Education: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Allied Health Sciences, Computer Science or, computer engineering, medical informatics or a related field; Masters Degree preferred.

Experience: Requires a minimum of four years experience in information systems management (preferably healthcare in a comparably sized hospital setting) with at least two years supervisory experience. Requires work experience with PACS and Radiology Information Systems, Windows OS, networking infrastructure, database technology, image processing/compression technologies, computer hardware/software systems, interface specifications including HL7 and DICOM standards within medical imaging. Requires experience with voice recognition systems and structured reporting systems within a Radiology Department setting. Familiar with Virtualization and storage technologies.

Licensure/Certification: CIIP preferred. Must have or be willing to obtain within 12 months of hire, certification as an Imaging Informatics Professional (CCIP-ABII) or PACS System Analyst (CPSA PARCS).

Knowledge/Skills: Needs to be self-motivated with ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Should have strong interpersonal relations, personnel management and communications (written and oral) skills. Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills; attention to details and demonstrated experience in IT Project Management.

Other: Operational and in depth knowledge of all imaging related systems to serve as resource for clinical and technical and professional staff. Establishes and maintains expertise in application functionality.
